Benadryl at night will help with the itching and also help them sleep. A benadryl cream is also helpful. I gave each of my children their own tube, and told them anytime they itched, to rub it on instead of scratching.

Keep fingernails short, and baby them. Let them sleep late, let them lay around all day. They are sick!! And you do live through it, and only get it once.

you know all those odd socks lying around, put some oatmeal in one,tie it, and toss it in the tub with your child, he/she can scratch with it until their heart is content.it dries up the pox and relieves itching. i did this with my kids it was cheap and effective.
